About
Built, bought, scaled and sold. Now looking for what's next.
Gabriel Villarreal is the founder of Velaro Group. He's an entrepreneur, investor and hands-on operator who has sat on both sides of the table, as a founder building and selling, and as a buyer. Velaro exists to give owners of great service businesses a better way to step back.

Track record
Operator first. Investor second.
Founder and operator
Gabriel has started businesses from scratch and run them day to day: hiring the team, winning the customers, managing the cash and making the hard calls.
Acquirer and investor
He has bought and invested in businesses across different industries, and understands how value, risk and deal structure really fit together.
Scaled and exited
As Managing Director of Kegs Off Tap, Gabriel took the business from five figures a year to seven figures a month in under two years. He led from the front: building the marketing, running the finances, managing a team of direct reports and hiring every person in the business, before a successful exit in 2025. He also founded and runs Hydrax, an endurance nutrition brand.
Why Velaro
"I've been on the selling side. I know what it feels like."
Selling a business you've built is one of the biggest decisions you'll make. It's rarely just about the price. It's about who you can trust, what happens to the people who helped you build it, and what your life looks like afterwards.
A generation of great business owners across South East Queensland is reaching that point. Many don't want a public listing, a hefty commission or months of being shopped around to buyers who were never serious.
Velaro gives them another option: a direct conversation with an experienced buyer who understands operations, respects what's been built, and structures each deal so it works for the owner as well as the business.
How we work
Six commitments to every owner we speak with.
Straight talk
You'll always know who you're dealing with, what we're thinking and why. No hidden buyers, no games.
Your goals first
We start with what you want from the sale and your life after it, then design the deal to deliver it.
Confidential by default
Nothing is shared or advertised. We're happy to sign your confidentiality agreement before you share anything sensitive.
Continuity
We look for businesses to carry forward, not strip back. Your team, your customers and your name matter.
Advisers welcome
The best deals are fully understood by both sides. We'll work openly with your accountant and solicitor.
A clear answer
If it isn't the right fit, you'll hear it early and plainly. Your time matters too.

Outside the office
Endurance, applied to business.
Gabriel trains and races endurance events, including Ironman Cairns in 2026. The lessons carry straight into business: prepare properly, pace yourself, and stay steady when it gets hard.
It's the same approach he brings to an acquisition: patient, prepared and committed to the long run.

How much is my business worth? A plain-English guide for Australian owners
The question every owner asks. What actually drives the value of a small service business, and how to get a realistic answer without paying for a full valuation straight away.
Selling well starts years before you sell
Buyers pay for predictability. What 'ready to sell' actually means, and the small habits that get you there.
The three numbers a buyer looks at first
Why two businesses with the same revenue can be worth very different amounts, and the three numbers that explain most of the gap.
Velaro is a buyer, not a business broker, financial planner or independent adviser. Nothing on this site is financial, legal or tax advice. Please involve your own advisers in any decision.
